Built-In Data Classifications

Umbrella provides four different pre-defined data classification templates. You can use the pre-defined data classification templates in one of two ways:

You can create a custom data classification by copying a pre-defined data classification template provided by umbrella, and customizing the copy. Create a Data Classification Using a Template.
You can apply a pre-defined data classification template provided by Umbrella to a DLP rule. (See Add a Real Time Rule to the Data Loss Prevention Policy and Add a SaaS API Rule to the Data Loss Prevention Policy).

Each of the built-in data classification templates has a different set of built-in data identifiers associated with it. The built-in data classification templates are:

PII Data Classification Template
Personal Information Identifiers; data that includes any personal information that may identify an individual, such as financial account numbers, medical records, passport or government identification numbers, or credit card numbers. The data identifiers associated with the PII Data Classification template are:
PCI Data Classification Template
Data related to the Payment Card Industry. The data identifiers associated with the PCI Data Classification template are:
GDPR Data Classification Template
Common personal data associated with the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation. Customers can use these identifiers to support GDPR compliance within their organizations. The data identifiers associated with the GDPR Data Classification template are:
HIPAA Data Classification Template
Personal medical and healthcare data associated with the United States’ Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. Customers can use these identifiers to support HIPAA compliance within their organizations. The data identifiers associated with the HIPAA Data Classification template are:
