A: No, this client is designed specifically for Chrome OS and does not function with other operating systems.

A: Yes, you must install the Cisco Security for Chromebook client from the Google Admin console and upload your Umbrella organization specific JSON file from it, too. Note that extensions are unlisted on the Chrome store and manual installation on chrome browser breaks functionality.

Q: Are SafeSearch and Intelligent Proxy supported?

Q: Can I use welcome.opendns.com to confirm that Cisco Umbrella Unified Chromebook client is working?
A: No. welcome.opendns.com is currently not supported.

Q: How is the Cisco Security for Chromebook client updated?
A: Google is responsible for updating the software in Chromebooks. When Cisco updates the Cisco Security for Chromebook client in the Chrome Web Store, the upgrade is automatically pushed by Google to all the Chromebooks. This process can take several hours.

Q: Are managed guest sessions or public sessions supported?
